In the past, there were news of the CM having made up his mind to weed out non-performing minister and bring in young faces in the cabinet. As per sources there are possibilities of as many as seven ‘under performers’ going back home.

It is said that Minister for Urban Development Vinay Kumar Sorake may be out as the CM feels that there is no need to give Ministerial berth to three MLAs from Dakshina Kannada. The sources also say that the CM is mighty impressed by Parliamentary Secretary to Minister for Revenue Pramodh Madhwaraj. Hence the chances of this young face from Udupi district getting a berth is bright.

Anupama Shenoy resignation row became a disgraceful incident for the Congress and with this there are all possibilities of Labour Minister P T Parameshwar Naik being stripped off the portfolio.

Another name that is making rounds is Minister for Education Kimmane Rathnakar. The shameful PU Paper leak has cost the Congress dear. As per insiders there are all possibilities of Assembly Speaker Kagodu Thimmappa getting this post. H Anjaneya who holds the Social Welfare Ministry and who is also one of the close associates of the CM too may be dropped from the cabinet. Horticulture Minister Shivashankarappa (possibilities of his son SS Mallikarjun being accommodated in the cabinet is strong), Minister for Textile Baburao Chinchansur, actor turned politician Ambareesh, Qamar Ul Islam and Sathish Jarkiholi are some of the other probable names that may be axed.

Siddaramaiah is expected to meet the Congress High Command soon with the list of probable candidates.

There are more than 15 ministerial aspirants and they are already camping in New Delhi to impress upon the party leaders. Siddaramaiah is expected to complete the reshuffle by month-end.
