CM BSY holds high-level meet to discuss B’luru riot issue

Bengaluru: Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa held a meeting with the senior officials of the state in connection to the riots that took place in DJ Halli and KG Halli.

The meeting was held at the residence of the Chief Minister- Cauvery, on Monday morning, which was attended by Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai, Advocate Geeral Prabhulinga Navadagi, DG and IGP Praveen Sood, Commissioner of Police Kamal Pant among others.

During the meeting, the CM gathered details about the riots, the reason behind the same and the action taken after the riots.

It is also said that the meeting may discuss the issue of banning outfits like SDPI and the PFI.

DJ Halli and KG Halli witnessed violent episode after Pulikeshi Nagar MLA Akhanda Srinivasa Murthy’s nephew Naveen put up a post on FB against Prophet Mohommed.

Within hours of posting the same, violent mob vandalised Murthy’s residence, office and houses of his relatives too. Four persons died in the episode and several others were injured. 

It is now believed that SDPI may have played a major role in the riots.
