Bengaluru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah appointed Ivan D’Souza as the chief whip of the Congress party in the State Legislative Council on Saturday, July 2.

Siddaramaiah informed about the appointment in a letter addressed to D H Shankaramurthy, the chairman of the legislative council.

Sources said that D’Souza would be taking charge on Monday, July 4.

The appointment of D’Souza as the Congress party chief whip in State Legislative Council led to celebration by Congress party workers outside his house near Valencia at Mangaluru.
