Bengaluru: Following PU second year Chemistry question paper leak on the re-exam on March 31, the CID has formed various teams to investigate the case and the teams have visited several places as part of the probe.
It may be recalled that the first question paper leak was on March 21 and on the re-exam on March 31 too the question paper was leaked.
It has been reported that the question paper leak was aimed at the removal of the recently inducted PU Board director Pallavi Akurathi.
DIG Sonia Narang, who is heading the probe said, ““We believe that the third Chemistry re-exam will go on smoothly as the mission to remove or transfer the PU director Pallavi Akurathi would have been accomplished by then.”
CID DIG Sonia Narang, on how the officials received information about the leak, said, “Our officers, who are probing the case, were in constant touch with many students. Around 3 am in the morning, there was credible information that the paper was leaked and the PU Board officials were alerted immediately. The sender had sent the image of questions handwritten.”
The CID officials held a meeting with PU Board officials following question paper leak and have taken measures in this regard. The re-exam will be held on April 12.
Meanwhile, city police commissioner N. S. Megharikh has ordered to shut all the photocopy shops in a radius of 200 meters of SSLC and PUC exam centres on the days of examination.
