Bengaluru: Dismissing claims that the Mathematics question paper was also leaked, an CID official said that it was a rumour spread by few students.

An officer said, “CID officials checked with thousands of students, lecturers and officials from the PU board and have come to the  conclusion that the rumour about the Mathematics question paper leak was spread by a few students, who did not do well in the examination.”

“Mathematics, was very tough, and so they raised the bogey of a question paper leak and also accused the PU Board of asking questions out of syllabus,” alleged a board officer.

The investigating officers came across a fake English language question paper, which was circulated among the students. Hence, the CID concluded that the English question paper was fake as it did not tally with the real one and it dropped from the ambit of investigation.

Sources from the PU board claimed that although students were aware of an English question paper circulating, they did not make it an issue as the examination was easy. “Compared to the fake, the real question paper was easy. So students were happy and did not raise a hue and cry,” a source said.
