Chitradurga: Minister for Food and Civil Supplies Shashikala Jolle warned legal action against those who pay bribe and furnish fake documents to get BPL cards.

Addressing the reporters here on Sunday, January 5, Jolle said, “Despite instructions to return BPL cards that were procured using illegal means, some families have failed to follow the same. The BPL cards are meant for only for those who are living below the poverty line. Legal action will be taken against those families which are economically sound and still have BPL cards.”

Meanwhile, Jolle cautioned that action will be taken against the officials of food department who will be hand in glows with the people, who obtain BPL cards by producing fake documents. If any official is found guilty of the same, measures will  be taken to suspend them,” she warned.
