Bengaluru: The Karnataka State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (KSCPCR) has issued summons to Santosh Kumar Mall, KV Sangathan commissioner, who looks after Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) schools in the country, over the recent incident of alleged sexual harassment of a student at a KV school in the city wherein a case under POCSO was registered against the principal. Mall has been asked to appear before the commission on February 17.

Commission chairman Kripa Amar Alva confirmed that a summon was sent to Mall over the incident.

“We had directed the Sangathan to suspend the principal who is accused of sexually assaulting children. Despite sending them (Sangathan) a letter more than ten days ago, we have so far received no response,” Alva said.

It may be recalled the principal was accused of sexually harassing a student, and allegedly returned to the school to intimidate student after securing bail. Apart from the police investigation, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) has ordered an internal inquiry.
