Chikkaballapura: With the State number one in implementing AIDS control programmes in the entire country, Health Minister Dr. K. Sudhakar has urged everyone to work unitedly to make the State HIV-free by 2030.
Speaking at the World AIDS Day programme organised at the District Hospital premises here on Thursday December 1, he said that State is the second state to have appointed an Ombudsman for AIDS prevention and everyone’s cooperation is needed to make the state completely AIDS-free. He Congratulated the officials and activists involved in preventing discrimination against HIV-infected people in the State and for infection control.
The Minister added that it has been declared a punishable offence to treat the infected persons with stigma or discrimination.
