Chemistry question paper leak; CID identifies prime suspect

Bengaluru: A key suspect in the II PU Chemistry question paper leak case has been identified by the CID sleuths.

Kiran alias Kumaraswamy, a resident of Tumakuru and an LIC agent, who is at large is the prime suspect in the case. The investigating officers have also identified few teachers as suspects in the case.

“We think Kiran is the prime conspirator and we can’t say anything specific about his involvement until we nab him,” a senior police officer said.

According to reports three others Obalesh, a government private aided school teacher Manjunath and Satish were earlier identified as suspects. The cops also suspect the involvement of two PWD engineers.

It is learnt that the probing team has collected enough leads and are questioning the suspects. Police sources said that unless the key suspect Kiran is arrested, the claims of those being questioned can not be trusted.

Reportedly, the suspects who are being questioned by the cops revealed that the leaked papers were sold for over Rs 14 lakhs. The suspects also claimed that the key suspect Kiran has links in the PU Board hence he could get the question paper.

“We are still questioning the 40 PU Board officials who have been suspended. It is not immediately known if any of the suspended officials were in touch with Kiran. The two cellphones of Kiran are switched off and the CID is following his movements,” added the officer.
