Bengaluru: Commemorating Kannada Cinema Day, the Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy will confer lifetime awards on as many as 10 persons who have contributed significantly to the Kannada film industry.
The award carrying a cash prize of Rs 50,000 and a citation will be conferred on Thursday. The R Nagendra Rao award will be conferred on S K Padmadevi (acting), the oldest surviving woman theatre artiste of Karnataka.
Among others are: film director Josaiman, H N Muddukrishna (producer), Rathnam (music), B A Madhu (singing), B S Basavaraju (cinematography), Babji – Srinivas Pictures, Gadag (distributor), Arugma (technology), Jaijagadish (villain) and Richard Castelino (regional language).
