Bengaluru: DCM C N Ashwath Narayan, who is also the higher education minister, announced that the century-old University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering (UVCE) will be developed in a similar fashion as the IITs.
This iconic institute is located at the KR circle of the city.
During a review meeting on the development of the UVCE, which has a legacy of 197 years, the minister stated that Rs 25 crores will be released to the college for developmental works.
“Aeronautical and aerospace engineering courses will be launched in the institute. We are trying to adopt a new module to develop this institute on par with best institutes in the world,” he assured.
Bengaluru University VC K R Venugopal was present on the occasion.
