Bangalore:CBI officials expedited the probe related to Janardhan Reddy, who is accused of selling the state-owned land to Mumbai-based a private enterprise, which was originally sanctioned for Brahmani Steel Company, led by Janardhan Reddy with the purpose of setting up a steel plant in Bellary.
CBI officials interrogated the officers of Mumbai-based Uttam Galvas Ferros Company as they are involved in the deal.The state regime that reigned during 2009 sanctioned 5,000 acres of state-owned land to Janardhan Reddy owned Brahmani Steel to set up steel plant in Bellary during the investors meet.
Janardhan Reddy is accused of selling the land that was originally sanctioned for Brahmani Steel to Mumbai-based Uttam Galvas Ferros Company misusing his authority.
As per the law, the state-owned land that was reserved for industrial development cannot be sold to private enterprises. At this backdrop, CBI officials intensified the interrogation of officials of Mumbai-based Company in this regard.
Janardhan Reddy who has been facing charges of illegal mining is now entangled in another scam.He had sold 5,000 acres for Rs 250 crore to prove his role in land mafia, which is another issue that will weigh down on Reddy family.
