Bengaluru: Seven persons were arrested by the police using CCTV footage in a case related to torching KPN travel buses on September 12 when violence erupted in the city.

Rakshith (17), Satish (27), Kempegowda (28), Prakash (46), Lokesh (25) and Chandran were among the seven nabbed by police using CCTV footages. Employed in garment factories in Peenya area, all the arrested persons are residents of D’Souza Nagar and Veerabahdra Nagar of the city.
They were arrested under various sections of IPC including 143, 147, 148, 324, 427 and 435 for assembling unlawfully, carrying dangerous weapons and causing damage to public property among others, according to official sources.
The accused in torching lorries have been remanded to judicial custody already. A case has been registered against the seven arrested in torching KPN travel buses at Raja Rajeshwari police station.
It may be recalled around 355 people were arrested across the city involved in violence after the Supreme Court verdict on Cauvery went against the state.
