Car washed away; one drown, Five survive

Kanakapura:A youngster driving a Tata Indica car was washed away in the flood waters of Anehalla that is located near Muttatti, near here on Wednesday September 4 night.  Five other passengers managed to survive.

The deceased has been identified as twenty-eight-year-old Murti, a native of Uttarahalli in Bangalore.  He was believed to be hailing from Areteklu (Badipura) in Tamil Nadu.  Murti had come to Kanakapura along with his five friends in order to attend the christening ceremony at his friends place.  Murti along with his friends left the venue after finishing the sumptuous food on the occasion.  When he was driving his Tata Indica car they come across a rivulet, Anehalla that was flooded.  Murti drove straight into it and the engine went off half way through into the rivulet.  Murti was washed away in the current, while he tried to come out of the car.  Meanwhile, five other passengers took shelter in a tree nearby and swam to the safety.

Murti’s dead body was found about one-and-a-half kilometers away.
