Bengaluru: It has now been confirmed that the state cabinet will be expanded on Tuesday. As many as 16 ministers are expected to be inducted into the cabinet in the first round.

MLC Kota Srinivas Poojary from coastal Karnataka is expected to miss the cabinet berth while Haladi Srinivas Shetty and S Angara are all set to make into the cabinet.

According to sources in the BJP, party national president and Union Home Minister Amith Shah chose BJP leaders such as Jagadish Shettar, K S Eshwarappa, Govind M Karjol, Basavaraja Bommai, R Ashok, B Sreeramulu etc. to fill the cabinet berths.

In the second round of expansion, the rebel MLAs that jumped over from the JD(S) and Congress will be inducted into the cabinet.

According to the sources, the BJP’s national leadership asked all the party’s MLAs not to rebel in the event that they are denied ministership as all the rebel MLAs who helped form the new government need to be rewarded with ministerial berths.
