Bengaluru: Road rage cost a young bride her life in the early hours of Sunday morning. The incident happened when the cab in which Hong Kong resident Jagarthi Haresh Sadhwani, 25, and her mother Priya were travelling to the Kempegowda International Airport to catch a flight to Hong Kong, hit a Volvo bus parked on the highway.
Jagrathi died, while her mother Priya suffered serious injuries.Jagarthi, training to be a teacher, was returning to Hong Kong for her wedding.
It was drizzly and dark around 12.30am on Sunday when the bus driver was arguing with the driver of a Santro who had attempted to overtake the bus, and scraped it. Blinded by the rain, the speeding cabbie didn’t notice the bus and drove into it. The driver, Honnesh, 35, escaped with injuries as he was wearing his seatbelt. Honnesh and Priya were rushed to hospital.
The mother-daughter duo was in the city as Priya was consulting a cosmetologist here. They were on their way to catch a flight back to Hong Kong. Police said Volvo driver Ashwaq Ahmed had stopped the vehicle instead of pulling over, and the cabbie was overspeeding. All three drivers were booked for negligent driving causing death under Section 304A of IPC. The drivers of the parked vehicles are to equally blame, an officer said
