Bengaluru: Newly inducted minister C T Ravi, on Tuesday, rejected reports that he is displeased with the portfolio allocated to him.

It can be recalled that late on August 26, the portfolios of each of the 17 new ministers were announced. Ravi was given the state Tourism Department and the additional charge of Kannada and Culture.

Soon after, reports surfaced that Ravi and several other ministers were unhappy with the ministries they were assigned and there were also reports that Ravi wanted to resign as minister as a result.

“I have been given a significant portfolio and I am grateful for it. I will work to make the state and an attractive tourist destination,” he told ANI here in Bengaluru.

Responding to the reports of his dissatisfaction with the portfolio, Ravi tweeted on Monday, “Some news channels are suspecting my Loyalty to my Party. I pity them. Neither have I ever prostrated before anyone for the sake of power nor do I believe that power is the only way to earn the respect of people.”
