Bengaluru: After being denied ticket to contest for upcoming MLC elections in the State, BJP State Vice-President and Former Chief Minister B. S. Yediyurappa’s son, B. Y. Vijayendra on Tuesday May 24 asked his supporters not to show any displeasure but firmly abide by BJP Central leadership’s decision.

After the candidates’ list was announced sans Vijayendra’s name, his supporters expressed anger and criticised BJP High Command and National Organisational Secretary B.L. Santhosh, who is known as a sworn enemy of Yediyurappa.

“All are common party workers. The party has never disappointed the capable and everyone should restrain and maintain calm and courtesy,” Vijayendra said.

Vijayendra said that power and position are not the ultimate political objectives. He asserted that any undue comments will only harm the BJP’s reputation apart from hurting sentiments of BSY.

“My father always believed that Sangh’s discipline, party organisation as real service and went on that path. The party and people of Karnataka have enabled him to take oath as chief minister for four times for the same reason,” he explained.

Further, Vijayendra appealed to supporters that BJP as a party always stood by him and power is not ultimate. I am happy to. Be working as Vice-President, he added.
