Bullet fired from service revolver led to Bande’s death: CID report

Bangalore: The CID report of deceased Sub-Inspector Mallikarjun Bande, results that he died owing to the bullet fired to him from a 9 mm service revolver, which belonging to the police department.

However, Sub-Inspector Mande shot dead by an underworld don Sheeter Munna.

The CID has now submitted its investigative report, which has further made this case interesting.

The report said the bullet fired from the service pistol belonging to SI Murali led to Bande’s death.

The report also said that Munna had snatched the pistol from the SI’s hands before targeting it at Bande.

The government earlier assigned this case to CID following suspicion regarding the cause of the death.

Mallikarjun last breathed on January 14, Tuesday night. The incident had taken place on January 8, when a police team had surrounded an underworld don named Munna in a bid to trap him. Mallikarjun was severely wounded after a bullet pierced through his head in the exchange of fire.

He was admitted to Basaveshwara Hospital in Hyderabad. Further, the news of his death triggered violence at several places in Gulbarga city in Hyderabad.
