Bengaluru: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state president B S Yeddyurappa on Friday demanded Chief Minister Siddaramaiah submit resignation and recommend Governor to dissolve the Assembly in view of the details of the documents on payments made to Congress high command appeared in the media.

Yeddyurappa alleges Rs 65 crore kickbacks in Steel flyover project, demands CM's resignation-1Speaking with media persons at his Dollars Colony residence here, Yeddyurappa said the chief minister has to resign if he had any ethics. “Congress leaders criticized me when I accused them of paying money to Congress high command to remain in power. Now, the truth about the entries made in the diary on the payment made to Congress high command are available with media. The details on payment made to Congress high command have exposed the rampant corruption among Congress ministers,’’ Yeddyurappa said.

The BJP state president said the people of the state know about the corruption among the Congress ministers. “I do not want him (the chief minister) to resign. Instead, let him to recommend for the dissolution of the Assembly. Let us go to the people’s court. Let the chief minister admit the injustice meted out to the people by his government on this auspicious Shivarathri day,’’ he said.

According to him, it was a crime of huge dimension and unbelievable enormity to provide crores of rupees to Congress high command that actually belonged to the people of the state. “Nobody needs the proposed steel flyover except Congress leaders as they have received Rs 65 crore kickbacks in this project. I had mentioned about it in one of my statements. I stand vindicated. In fact, the contents of the diary are explosive in nature as names of many ministers are mentioned in it,’’ he said.

Commenting on the statement made by KPCC working president Dinesh Gundu Rao accusing BJP for planning to defame Congress government, he described it as a ridiculous. “Dinesh Gundu Rao became a butt of ridicule. Nobody needs a mirror to see the wound on the palm. The diary was seized from Govindaraju’s residence. Mahajar was done and signatures of the two witnesses were obtained. If Govindaraju speaks lies, he will be landed up in more trouble,’’ he said.

He added, “it would be wise if the chief minister admits of having provided funds to the Congress high command but he had no role to play’’.

According to him, there was a qualitative difference between the Sahara diary and the diary that belong to Govindaraju. “In the diary that belong to Govindaraju names of the recipients as well as the one who offered the money have been clearly mentioned. Whichever minister is caught in this multi-crore pay off will suffer. Thousands of crores of rupees have been siphoned in irrigation and public works department. If a thorough inquiry is conducted, the truth will come out,’’ he explained.

He said the I-T officials have seized the diary which had about 24 to 28 pages but he doesn’t have any information whether names of other minister have been mentioned.
