Bengaluru: BJP state Chief B S Yeddyurappa had recently visited Dalit homes as part of his state-wide tour. He was seen relishing food in Dalit homes, which was ridiculed by the ruling Congress party.

As a gesture of thanksgiving for the hospitality extended to him by the Dalits, Yeddyurappa is now going to host a lavish lunch for the Dalits at his residence in Dollars Colony in Bengaluru on August 28.

This move of Yeddyurappa is also perceived as a reply to the Congress, which had questioned BSY as to why he could eat meal in Dalit homes, but could not invite Dalits for a lunch in his home?

Many are viewing this as an election gimmick as state is running into polls next year and the BJP is making all efforts to woo the voters.
