Bengaluru: Leader of the Opposition in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly, B S Yeddyurappa said that the Central government reduced the petrol, diesel price by Rs 2.50 and now the state government must slash the price by Rs 2.50 immediately.

Speaking to reporters on Thursday, October 4, Yeddyurappa said that the Central government has taken the right decision by reducing the petrol and diesel price, thought the revenue collected by the government from the sales of petrol and diesel is limited.

“The revenue collected by petrol and diesel sales in the state government increases with the increase of the price of the crude oil prices in the global market. For example, every barrel of oil in the global market had shot uo from $ 60 to $ 85 now. According to this, the state tax collections will be high”, he added.

If the state government reduces the petrol, diesel prices, only the tax collected will reduce and hence the state government will not incur any losses, said Yeddyurappa.
