Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa on Monday, January 6, chaired a meeting with leaders of the Valmiki community over reservations for the members of the said community.
The meeting is being conducted at the Chief Minister’s residence “Krishna” at KK Road in Bengaluru.
Senior leaders Ramesh Jarakiholi, Satish Jarakiholi and B Sreeramulu are also present at the meeting.
The leaders of the Valmiki community have demanded an increase in the reservation. They have asked for a reservation of up to 7.5 per cent.
The meeting is currently underway.
It can be recalled that health minister Sreeramulu had recently threatened to quit if the state government did not consider the requests to enhance ST reservations.
