Bengaluru: The boss of a job portal was arrested and sent to judicial custody, after a 28-year-old woman employee, alleged sexual harassment, threats from him for the last few months. The victim had registered a complaint at Indiranagar police station on Thursday.

The accused, Kiran Raghav (40) from Konena Agrahara in HAL was arrested on Thursday, after acquiring sufficient evidence and was booked for sexual harassment and threat.

The woman hailing from Mumbai had moved to the city along with her husband, a techie and started working for a private firm in HAL II stage. She was reporting to Raghav, BM reported.

An investigating officer, said, “The man took advantage of being the reporting manager; he would send her personal messages on her cell phone. He would deliberately make her stay late in the office, he would forcibly take her in his car for meetings and would touch her inappropriately. He would ride pillion on her moped and molest her. He even asked her to bunk office to watch movies with him. When she resisted his sexual advances, Raghav allegedly threatened to ruin her career, and constantly kept sending her threatening messages,”

He further added, “Since the accused had sexually harassed his colleague, we are in the process to ascertain if there was a mandatory sexual harassment committee at her workplace, and if the woman approached that committee. If the committee was not in place, action will be initiated against the company too.”

The victim while lodging complaint against her boss has provided personal messages sent by him.
