Bengaluru: The CCB officers on Saturday arrested a bookie for betting on the India-Zimbabwe cricket match in the ongoing World Cup.

Based on a tip-off, the police arrested Arun, a resident of Rajajinagar, and recovered Rs 2 lakh in cash, two mobile phones, a laptop and a television from his house.
A senior police officer said special teams had been formed to crack down on bookies.

“It is a tough task, as they are not co-ordinating from within the City, but from different countries. The teams are working to know their modus operandi and more arrests will be made at the earliest,” he said.
