Bengaluru: Mysuru-Kodagu MP Prathap Simha has urged the government for immediate arrest of Chamrajpet MLA Zameer Ahmed Khan, holding him responsible for the Padarayanapura violence.

Pressing for Goonda Act against the legislator, the MP has said that the attack on police and the frontline health workers is unacceptable, but the Congres legislator has been maintaining that the police and the health workers are to be blamed for the entire commotion.

Simha said that Khan must be booked under National Security Act.

“He (Khan) understands NRC, CAA and even the Israel-Palastine conflict. But he fails to understand that attack on Corona Warriors is wrong. No constituency is an asset of any MLA or MPs. This is my constituency and enter the constituency seeking my permission is not an acceptable attitude. It is not a real estate venture that you are running,” he told Khan adding that nodody has written off Chamrajpete in Khan’s name.

Simha added that when CM BS Yediyurappa urged the state to make sure one community is not held responsible for the Corona outbreak, it was his kindness. It is wrong to perceive his kindness as his weakness.

It may be recalled that violence broke out in Padarayanapura area after police and frontline health workers arrived there to pick a few people who were identified as secondary contacts of COVID-19 positive persons. The locals residents attacked the police and the health workers.

Soon after the incident, Zameer Ahmed Khan blamed the police and the health workers for entering the area in the night.
