Bengaluru: Deputy Chief Minister Dr G Parameshwara has made it clear that the government has no plans to shut down the Bangalore Metropolitan Task Force (BMTF).

Speaking to reporters in the city, Parameshwara informed that the BMTF was set up to investigate the corruption-related charges in the BBMP. “The coalition government is committed to making the BBMP administration transparent. So, there is no question of scrapping the BMTF,” he stated.

It can be recalled that recently, the BBMP and BMTF were abuzz with speculations that the state government may shut down the 14-year-old BMTF.

As the BMTF has been holding an investigation into cases against BBMP authorities, it is alleged that corrupt officers are behind such a proposal. But now, the DCM himself has clarified that the state government has no such plans.
