Bengaluru: The Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) unveiled the first of the 90 electric buses to be leased from the NTPC – JBM JV on Thursday September 30.

Minister Sriramulu said that Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai will formally induct about 10 buses in November at an event in front of Vidhana Soudha. Transport Minister announced that the process to procure additional 300 buses will be done in the coming days.

Minister informed that the 90 buses are procured under Smart City Programme and the cost of each bus is Rs. 90 lakh. “We will continue to encourage green mobility,” he added.

BMTC Chairman N. S. Nandiesha Reddy was also present.
