Bengaluru: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has instructed officials to find measures to reduce traffic congestion at ten prominent places in the city and its surroundings as Bengaluru’s traffic problems remain resolved.
He remarked during a meeting with representatives from the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB), Urban Development, Police and other departments that the focus should be on synchronising traffic signals and removing obstacles for a smooth flow of traffic.
He said that Hebbal, Mahadevapura Outer Ring Road, Silk Board Junction, and Whitefield Road, which regularly experience heavy traffic, should be managed and also directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police (traffic) to address the issue.
He also directed officials to clear encroachments on arterial, sub-arterial, and high-density roads without showing any leniency and submit a report. “I will hold zone-wise meetings again to review the actions taken,” said Bommai.
