Bengaluru: A businesswoman named Som Dutta has accused Tejasvi Surya, the Bharatiya Janata Party candidate for Bengaluru South Lok Sabha constituency of sexual abuse on Twitter on Wednesday, March 27. In the tweet under the #MeToo tag, which went viral, she has questioned his nomination by the BJP High Command alleging that her parents too had suffered because of the abuse.
This allegation has surfaced when this BJP Yuva Morcha leader and a lawyer, is already embroiled in a controversy with his own party workers who are vehemently opposing his candidature against the much expected Tejasvini Ananth Kumar, wife of politician Late Ananth Kumar.

Som Dutta has termed Tejasvi a womaniser, abuser and woman beater and questioned the public if they would blindly support such a candidate.
The Information Technology (IT) Cell of the Congress party had tweeted, “Is Tejasvi Surya another M J Akbar in the making?”

When the series of tweets and retweets went viral on social media platforms with the Karnataka Congress also sharing Dutta’s tweets, she deleted all of them immediately.
She tweeted freshly by requesting people to forget the allegations and leave alone Tejasvi. She has said that he belonged to a respectable family and people would get hurt if the matter was dragged any further.

Dutta confirmed that she had deleted all her tweets against Tejasvi Surya.
After this, her Twitter account appeared to be inactive.
Meanwhile, Tejasvi Surya has reacted to the tweet row and said that she was his close friend and that she had deleted the tweets against him all by herself.
He has appreciated her action and has said that he would respect her words and would not continue the discussion on this matter.
