B’luru doc tests positive for COVID-19; Hospital shut for 15 days

Bengaluru: A 32-year-old doctor in Bengaluru was tested positive for Covid-19 on Saturday. He is one of the fresh five cases reported on Saturday.

Following this, Shifa Hospital on Queen’s Road in Bengaluru has been shut down for 15 days as the medico was employed there and is said to have contracted the infection in the hospital while treating the patients in the hospital’s flu ward.

The doctor is being treated at the Covid-19 isolation ward in Trauma Care centre in Victoria hospital premises.

At least ten staff members of Shifa Hosptial, who were primary contacts have been quarantined.

With this the total number of cases in Karnataka touches 214.
