Bengaluru: Veteran party leader BK Hariprasad and Naseer Ahmed will be the Congress party’s candidates for the upcoming MLC polls.

The party high command has finalised the names and sent the B form to them.

It can be recalled that earlier in the day, the Congress had shortlisted six candidates for the elections. The names were Muddahanumegowda, S. Manohar, Saleem Ahmed, H.M. Revanna, M. R. Seetharam, and Naseer Ahmed.

Hariprasad’s name was missing from the first list, but he was selected by the party high command on its own.

It can be noted that the last day to file the nomination papers is Thursday.

The bypolls for seven MLC seats is scheduled to be held on June 29.
