Bengaluru: BJP State president Pralhad Joshi said the State BJP will start on May 1 its contact programme with the members it enrolled during its four-month-long enrolment drive here on Friday.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the party’s office-bearers’ and enrolment drive review meeting Joshi said so far the party had enrolled 68 lakh members.
He criticised the State government for failing to tackle the drinking water crisis. “The Cabinet committee on drinking water hasn’t met even once…. reports from the deputy commissioners on the drinking water situation have not even been compiled,” he said.
Joshi accused Chief Minister Siddaramaiah of misleading the people by stating that reduction in the State’s share of Central funds had nullified the increase in the allocation of tax revenues made in the 14th Finance Commission to the State.
“There has been an increase of Central grants to the State by at least Rs 7,000 crore for the financial year 2015-16,” he claimed.
