Bengaluru: Pandavapura MLA and minor irrigation minister CS Puttaraju, who is considered as a close aide of Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy has created more confusion with his latest statement on the coalition government.

Speaking to reporters, Puttaraju has said that the BJP was a better coalition partner and the Congress leaders don’t know how to run a coalition government.

“In 2006-2007, HD Kumaraswamy became Chief Minister for the first time with the help of the BJP. That government had a good name across the state. HD Kumaraswamy was very popular. The BJP leaders were aware of the coalition compulsions. It helped the JDS to reach to the expectations of the general public,” he said drawing a contradiction that the Congress leaders don’t have the experience of running a coalition government.

Meanwhile, senior JDS leader Basavaraja Horatti urged CM HD Kumaraswamy to resign from the post of the CM. “The Congress legislators are insulting the JDS leaders including the CM himself. In such a scenario, there is no meaning in continuing as the CM,” he stated.

BSP MLA and former minister N Mahesh urged the Congress MLAs including Chamarajanagar district in-charge minister C Puttaranga Shetty from making any statements against CM HD Kumaraswamy. “HDK is the CM; not Siddaramaiah,” he stated.
