BJP to skip all-party meet on Cauvery

Bengaluru: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders have decided to boycott the all-party meet convened by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Wednesday evening. The all-party meet is scheduled to be held at 6 pm on Wednesday.
Karnataka must not release Cauvery water to TN: Yeddyurappa-1According to BJP sources, Leader of Opposition in the State Assembly R Jagadish Shettar has left for Delhi while BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa is expected to undertake tour of Kadur district as per the schedule. The sources said the BJP leadership has taken this decision since Chief Minister Siddaramaiah did not follow the decision taken during the all-party meet on Cauvery water issue recently. JD(S) leaders also did not attend the recent all-party meet on Cauvery issue. Now it is not clear whether the JD(S) leaders will attend the all-party meet convened at 6 pm on today.

It may be recalled that BJP leaders walked out of the recent all-party meet when the chief minister announced to release Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu. While the chief minister defended the decision to release Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu, leaders of other political parties blamed him for not following the decision taken during the all-party meet.
