Bengaluru: Despite differences within the party reportedly remain; the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state unit has begun organisational work for the upcoming polls.
The BJP state unit held two meetings of booth-level committees on Saturday, which sources said became a platform for disagreements between groups led by party State president B.S. Yeddyurappa and RSS leader B.L. Santosh.
Sources said a few leaders, who were suspended from party positions when differences of opinion cropped up between Yeddyurappa and K.S. Eshwarappa, were first invited for the meeting but later asked to stay away as their suspensions were not revoked. However, M.B. Bhanuprakash, MLC, who was suspended as party State unit’s vice-president, said he did not attend the meeting as he was occupied with a religious function.
The BJP state unit has formed two committees: one for conventional campaigning and the other for non-conventional campaigning.
