Bengaluru: While Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa is all set for a Cabinet expansion on February 6, some of the newly-joined BJP leaders have begun expressing their distress over the information that not all of them will be given a Cabinet berth.
MLA Mahesh Kumathalli, who contested on the BJP ticket in the recent Assembly by-polls from the Athani constituency and won, has spoken to the media on Sunday, February 2 and expressed his unhappiness.
He said, “The BJP must remember that the BSY-led BJP government came into existence only because of the sacrifice of 17 MLAs. Party leaders, including BSY, had said that they would allocate Cabinet posts to all those who joined them. But now we have received information that not all will be included, including me. I would like to tell the BJP leaders that, if they do so, then their party’s reputation will be at stake.”
“The BJP leaders are changing their colours by making varied statements on a daily basis. I want my constituency. I’m okay with the party’s decision of not giving any ministerial berth in BSY’s cabinet, as I’m ready to do even a cleaner’s job in the BJP party office. The BJP must stand firmly by its promises, as the people of the state are watching,” he added.
