Bengaluru: Former chief minister and Chairman of Government-alliance Coordination Committee Siddramaiah criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi, here on Monday, April 8, that he is not ‘Chowkidar’ (watchman against corruption) but ‘Bhagidar’(person involved in corruption).

Addressing a campaign rally in favour of Congress and Janata Dal (S) coalition candidate from Bengaluru Central, Rizwan Arshad, he said, “When I was the CM of the state I have implemented several developmental projects but if you ask PM Modi and Bharatiya Janata Party chief Amit Shah whether the jobs for youth are created or not, both give an option of selling pakodas.”

“PM Modi calls himself a ‘Chowkidar’. He is not a ‘Chowkidar’ but ‘Bhagidar’. He is involved in corruption, rather than protecting the treasury of the country”, Siddaramaiah alleged.

“In the name of ‘Acche Din’ he ensured waiver of loans for business giants, who have committed fraudulent transactions and betrayed the poor and farmers. He has not waived off farmers’ loans”, he added.

Meanwhile, he also termed PM Modi the country’s biggest liar.

Slamming the state BJP leaders he said, “BJP State President B S Yeddyurappa, leaders like Gali Janardhan Reddy, Sriramulu, Katta Subramanya Naidu and others who have been behind the bars have become ‘Chowkidars’ now.”

He questioned the gathering what good had BJP candidate from Bengaluru Central constituency, P C Mohan done for the people.

Siddramaiah said, “P C Mohan will not get votes on his individual capacity but on face value of PM Modi.”

“An MP who has not worked for the people of his constituency has no rights to ask for votes”, he added.
