Mandya: The attempts of the Bharathiya Janatha Party (BJP) to attract Congress MLA, ‘Rebel Star’ Ambareesh, who is yet to take a decision on contesting in upcoming elections, went in vain.
According to the reliable sources, the BJP had planned to invite Ambareesh, who is still busy in calculations regarding contesting in upcoming Assembly polls. It is said that the actor turned politician’s health issues at compelling him to stay away from politics.
Former union minister, BJP leader Krishnam Raju was assigned to speak to Ambareesh at Hyderabad. However, the former Sandalwood star responded negatively during the discussion.
In his clarification regarding the developments, Ambareesh said, “I don’t want to leave the Congress party. It has given me everything. I don’t have any difference of opinion with other leaders.”
Meanwhile, it has come to know that State Congress-in-Charge Venugopal has directed Ambareesh to take a stand regarding contesting in the elections before Sunday evening and inform it to high-command.
