
Bengaluru: Post COVID 19 lockdown, the city is witnessing a sudden surge in the number of crimes. On Friday night, the Bharatinagar police in the city arrested three youths who kidnapped an 11-year-old son of a textile businessman and demanded Rs.2 crores as a ransom for his release.
According to police sources, the boy was kidnapped when playing near his home. The kidnappers approached his father and demanded Rs.2 crores for his release.
Immediately the businessman approached the Bharatinagar police who formed five teams to nab the kidnappers. The boy was rescued from the outskirts of Tumkur city on Friday late night.
Police sources said that they are nvestigating whether the kidnappers are part of any larger gang.
