Bengaluru: Police Commissioner Kamal Pant informed that prohibitory orders have been extended till October 25, 6.00 am in Bengaluru. A night curfew will be in effect from 10.00 pm to 5.00 am.
Despite the fact that Covid – 19 cases and the overall number of patients in Karnataka are steadily falling, the five-fold plan of test, track, treat, and vaccinate, as well as adherence to Covid -19-appropriate behaviour, must be maintained to avoid any potential spike over the festive season.
He further stated in the order that, “Further, as per the prevailing circular/guidelines issued by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, close monitoring at the border posts set up in districts adjoining Kerala and Maharashtra states should continue.”
As per the order, any violation of the prohibitory order will be charged under the Disaster Management Act of 2005, the Karnataka Epidemic Diseases Act of 2020, and Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code.
