Bengaluru: Even though there are still eight months till the State Assembly elections, leaders of the Congress State Unit are already dreaming about returning to power in the State. When their supporters are crossing swords, now Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President D. K. Shivakumar has expressed his desire of becoming Chief Minister.

Speaking at a Vokkaliga community event at Vokkaliga Sangha office in the city, he said that after S. M. Krishna, no one has become full-time CM from the community. “Now, the time has come. The Vokkaliga community should not miss this opportunity,” he said.

He also stated that he has seen many ups and downs in his life including imprisonment. “But I will keep fighting. The community should support it,” he said.
