Bengaluru: Police arrested two brothers who came to the City from Tamil Nadu to burgle homes. A third accomplice has also been arrested.

According to sources, Brothers M. Ajith (22) and Gunashekhar, alias Korangu (21) along with K. Muthukumar (27) a friend of the duo, would travel frequently to the City with the sole aim of breaking into homes and stealing valuables like jewellery and cash. They rented houses in Parappana Agrahara and other areas nearer the Tamil Nadu border.

The trio would then scout out potential targets for a break-in. They exclusively chose homes with trash piles at the doorstep or without any rangoli designs. The police claimed that after they were sure that the house was empty, they would break in at night and escape with valuables.

Police suspect that the trio broke into homes in the Hennur, Ramamurthy Nagar, Kothanur, and Yelahanka areas and stole jewellery and other valuables before fleeing with the loot. The cops were able to seize Rs. 49.17 lakh worth of gold jewellery from the accused.

According to the police, one of the brothers, Gunashekhar, started committing crimes at an early age and later taught his elder brother how to do it.
