Bengaluru: Special singing series to mark Rajyotsava planned

Bengaluru: Kannada and Culture Department Minister Sunil Kumar said that on the occasion of Rajyotsava, singing of popular songs of Kannada poets will be organised simultaneously.

He has made a statement in this regard, saying that the popular songs will be presented in crores of voices across the State. Last year on the occasion of Kannada Rajyotsav, singing by lakhs of people was planned with the slogan “Matad Matad Kannada”. He said that crores of voices have been arranged this time.

On October 28, National Poet Kuvempu’s song “Jaya Bharata Jananiya Tanujate”, Dr. Channaveera Kanavi’s “Vishwa Vinutana Vidya Chetana Sarva Hridaya Sanskari”, Kuvempu’s “Barisu Kannada Dindimava”, Dr. D. S. Karki’s “Hachchevu Kannadada Deepa” and Dr. Hamsalekha’s five songs “Huttidare Kannada Nadalli Huttabeku” are sung in crores of voices.

Apart from this, the interested party said that the other Kannada songs can be presented based on the time limit.
