Bengaluru: The statue of ‘Nadaprabhu’ Kempegowda will be unveiled on November 2 at the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) in Devanahalli, said Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.

Speaking to mediapersons on Thursday September 1, he said, “In Rome, there is a historic landmark of Aristotle who taught Alexander. But our history goes back further than that. Unfortunately, we are fast forgetting history. No one will know Kempegowda in a few years. For this, we will not only erect a statue but also develop all the places where Kempegowda visited and lived.

Bommai further said that for this project, Former Chief Minister, and veteran BJP leader B. S. Yediyurappa had laid the foundation stone in his tenure. “We have already laid the foundation stone, and we will be bringing soil from every village in the state of Karnataka to use in the theme park. This will help inspire us from the works done by Kempegowda to this land.”
