Bengaluru: Former Chief Minister H. D. Kumaraswamy said that no political programmes will be held in the City until the JD (S) Pacnharatna Yatra is completed.
According to sources, the Yatra, which began in the Kolar district, has now reached the Tumakuru district’s Pavagada and Shira through the Chikkaballapura District and Bengaluru Rural.
The Yatra would also pass through Uttara and Kalyana Karnataka. Therefore, no political activities or programmes will be held in Bengaluru till it is completed.
The decision was made after the BJP and Congress, respectively, tried to establish bases in Old Mysuru and Bengaluru Rural.
The decision was made after the BJP and Congress, respectively, tried to establish bases in Old Mysuru and Bengaluru Rural. To win the support of the people of Old Mysuru and Bengaluru Rural, which are also said to be constituencies that favour JD (S), HDK has therefore started his political campaign well in advance.
The party, which plans to use the Yatra to visit over 150 constituencies, will only hold meetings in the City if they are considered important.
