After beings able to ensure defects in the JD (S) now Siddu is playing new cards to weaken the ruling BJP. After convincing K. R. Pete MLA, and Minister C. Narayana Gowda to join the party now sources indicated that he is able to convince Housing Minister V. Somanna to join the Congress.
Somanna is a powerful Lingayat leader. He can swing a big chunk of votes in Old Mysuru Region and Bengaluru City in favour of the party. Now Siddu reportedly approached Somanna to join the party.
“If Somanna joins Congress, it will be cake walk for the Party in Chamarajanagara, and Mysuru Districts where he has good hold on the Lingayat votes,” said a Congress Leader.
Presently V. Somanna is serving as the Housing and Chamarajanagara District In-Charge Minister.
