Bengaluru: Man held on charge of trying to get person with terror links released

Bengaluru: The Halasurugate Police have arrested a man who tried to release an accused who was arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) officials for his alleged links with the banned SIMIand Ul-Hind terror outfits and conspiring to kill Hindu leaders.

The Court has directed to take K. G. Nagabhushan, a resident of Konanakunte in Mulbagal Taluk of Kolar District into custody. According to sources, the accused had given a fake surety to Salim Khan alias Kolar Saleem, the 11th accused in the case registered at Suddaguntepalya Police Station in 2020.

The accused, Nagabhushan, had come to give surety to Salim Khan by attaching RTC, Aadhar Card and other documents pertaining to 0.13 gunta of survey No. 158/3 in Mulbagal Taluk. The market value of the site is approximately Rs. 10 lakh.

During scrutiny of the documents, it was found that it was fake. The Court had, therefore, issued a warning. Also, the accused had tried to cheat the Court about four times in the same manner. It had then warned of severe punishment. The Court had also asked the Sub-Registrar of Mulbagal to provide information about these documents.
