Bengaluru: Police arrested an engineering graduate who demanded money in exchange for a job. The Kollam Rural Cyber Crime Unit arrested Balasubramanyan (47), a resident of Adugodi, Bengaluru, after receiving a complaint from a Chengamanadu, Kottarakkara, resident.
According to sources, the fraud was done as a data entry job. Candidates were asked to upload their photo and signature to a fake site and asked for their UPI ID to get the salary. He then demanded Rs. 50,000 as a software fee, credit score enhancement, and legal fee to receive payment. It was found later that it was a fraud after sending the money.
a complaint was lodged with the Kollam Rural SP. As per the reports, over 30 victims of fraud have already been identified.
