Bengaluru: The Department of National Livelihoods has taken a step to attract street vendors, who do business in cash every day, towards digital transactions. This is why the ‘Mai Bhi Digital’ Scheme has been launched and awareness is being created about it. The depzartment is also planning to conduct training programmes for all eligible street vendors who have already availed loans and facilities under the Pradhan Mantri Svanidhi Yojana to interact digitally.
The issue was discussed in detail at a progress review meeting of senior officials held at the level of Secretaries of Housing and Urban affazirs and Secretaries of the Union Ministry of Finance recently.
A Senior Official of the National Livelihood Mission said consultations were also held on allowing street vendors, who have already availed loan facility under the PM-M Svanidhi Scheme, to do business digitally.
